I was a 3rd Brentford Guide from 1956-1961 when it wasstill under the leadership of Peggy Coles and Gladys Wells.Peggy retired in 1962 due to the poor health of hermother, and Gladys also decided to go.  The unit was then run by another Miss Coles for a short while.  In 1963I returned to 3rds to take over the unit and continued until I had to retire from Guiding in 1910 on my 65th Birthday.  We celebrated all our major anniversaries over the years. In 1998, I was lucky enough to meet Olga Rix (nee Frampton) who joined us on our 75th Anniversary, together with other ex-3rds from the late 1940's to the then present day. It was really lovely talking to our guestsand hearing about their memories of their time with theunit.I will always be very grateful and thankful that I wasa guide in Peggy and Gladys' time.  They taught me sucha lot and we had tremendous fun, and this was when Ideveloped my love of camping. In 1981 we undertook our biggest venture, a trip to Switzerland, and returned there another ten times.  You will be pleased to know that the 3rd's are still going strong under the leadership of Sarah Pearce, who was also an ex-member of the unit, and they still camp every year. The uniform and programme has changed manytimes of the years, but guiding is still going strong.Regarding the 3rd Chiswick Guides. This was run for manyyears by Daphne Drewitt.  I believe they met in the Catholic hall in Chiswick.  The unit closed in, I think, the early 80's due to lack of girls.  Daphne will be 90in December and is a member of Brentford and ChiswickTrefoil Guild
