Orchard Rd Street Party

What a lovely evening we spent at the Orchard Rd Street Party in Brentford yesterday and thanks very much to the residents for our invitations.Great live band and bbq,lots of drink and great company made it a smashing Saturday night.

It certainly was an enjoyable event, and reassuring to see that the community spirit survives and indeed thrives in Orchard Road.  These people are our eyes and ears, they improve the social environment for their own residents and can be depended upon to bring matters to our attention which might adversely affect community life in Brentford.  Let's hope it catches on.

It was a really special evening and I must also point out that Cllrs Ruth Cadbury,Andrew Dakers,Phil and Caroline Andrews and Jonathan Hardy also attended.Well done to all the organisers for all the obvious hard work that went into making it such a success.

Agree Jim. It is surprising that the people of Brentford don't use this Forum more. Maybe there is more entertainment in Brentford of an evening than I remember???

AudreyYou can see what a struggle it is to get things going on this Brentford forum....a Forum which is heavily clouded by the mudbath wrestling of the powerful few behind the scenes.We are struggling to pin these operators down. They offer little pleasure to us real locals..and Mrs Keen recent performance in the House of Commons..regarding INDEPENDENT elected representatives..was another black cloud.As you say..a report from others in delightful Orchard Road..where my old schoolfriend Ray Kirby lived..would have been welcome. But Brentford ..is a hard pot of porridge to stir.Good to hear that Paul and Shirley Fisher, both INDEPENDENT local Councillors..had a good time. Obviously they were well received.
