UK Hemp and Hydro Expo @ Ricoh Arena Coventy is CANCLED

Unfortunately, due to a very late decision by the Directors of the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, this years UK Hemp and Hydro Expo has been Cancelled.This would have been the 4th event of its kind in the UK and was scheduled to take place on the 28th, 29th and 30th of July 05.It would appear that despite being a full list of Companies taking part and being in possession of this list for almost a year that the directors have waited until a few weeks to announce that they were unhappy with some of the distributors taking part and some of the products being sold. This is despite confirmation from Coventry City Police that the products sold are legal and that the Police had no objections to the event taking place.It would appear that the Directors who happily sell alcohol the football thugs and fans alike whilst running one of the largest gambling Casinos in the UK have a ‘moral’ objection to the event, which is odd as I had a moral objection to doing business with them and didn’t take I stand at this years event, and it didn’t take me anywhere near as long to discover my morals. It seems fairly obvious that this decision has been taken rather maliciously as it will obviously cause a degree of hardship to all taking part the cost of publicising this event can not be recovered and the last two weeks of  July are the traditional holiday period for the German and Dutch exhibitors who had made special arrangement with their staff to attend what is becoming one of the most important of these shows in Europe. This though is of no apparent importance to the Guardians of public morals (as long as we don’t talk about alcohol or the evils of gambling) that are the Directors of The Ricoh Arena Coventry.If you wer planning to go and feel like complaining please send your e.mails to events@ricoharena and mark for the attension of the directors please do not blame or have a go at the arena's staff, they did not make this decision.

First UK Hemp fair arranged by Weed World magazine in conjunction with Spannabis (promoters of the Barcelona Hemp Fairs)took place at the Wembley Exhibition Centre London on the 1st,2nd and 3rd October 2004It attracted visitors from all over the UK, attendance was not as high as would have been liked but this was due to the media doing their best to ignore itTwo Hemp fairs took place the following year Spannabis parting company with WW set one up at the Old Truman Brewery at Brick Lane it was a bit of a failure Spannabis failing to understand the British situation over publicity.Three weeks later the WW was again held at Wembley it had a three fold increase in attendance and are industry Which is world wide sat up and took notice the international trade were very keen to attend this year so much so that many of these companies made special arrangements with their staff to enable these companies to take part. The last two weeks in July are the most common holiday breaks for Germany Holland and most of continental Europe.Never mind the fact that the laws on cannabis are falling all over Europe drug fascism still rules supreme in good old blighty and we can just watch as another economic opportunity passes the British traders by while our continental cousins clean up in this multi million pound trade as it goes on elsewhere

Is that Serious? Was there really going to be a UK Hemp and Hydro Expo?I have to say it doesn't surprise me it got Kyboshed at the last minute, but just the ability to have got as far as the police saying yes a feat.Cool

Are you going, Hemp expos/fairs happen all over the  free world but here and the USA would get a better turn out to your one, must be something to do with our sensible drug policy
