Boston Manor Road flower shop closed down?

One remembers the joyful colours of flowers for sale at that newish Flower Shop opposite..or nearly opposite... the Boston Cafe..and adjoining a Goddards Depot.Has it closed down?  Or taking a  holiday break?  Looked stark and emptywhen I drove by the other day.Apparently only three-quarters of new businesses survive more that three  years.  High rates and high landlord rents don't help..do they!!

Aljen Flowers now have a much bigger shop in Acton which I believe is called 'Act on Impulse'.

it is such a shame if it has had to close down. but you can bet they tried their hardest with it. the name Aljen was made up of alan and jennifer, the owners. when i was a very child he lived next door. whatever they have decided to do i wish them both well.

I always thought they were in a perfect spot for businesses since the closure of the flower shop in the high street.  We often used them for deliveries - although I think it was the actual owner that used to deliver. Very nice lady - shame it's gone.The cafe I believe is actually run by Anne's Cabs as her husband works in there.  Polish that work in there but I do believe it's under Anne and her husbands belt.

Noted Mike.Compensation is that there is a cracking new cafe/plus just opened across the road. It was recommended to me and my visit there yesterday was memorable. It looks very well run.I have enjoyed the Boston Cafe over many many years too..and I found it a good place to meet and talk to oldies about Brentford and Chiswick memories.For a greasy spoon, I'm impressed with Matt's recommendation..the Cafe run by some Polish people on the corner of Layton Road and Brook Road North..opposite the infamous railway Bridge..(and above the Brook stream??).

Looks as though it is a goner. It didn't seem to be a particularly well run business. I visited it once and there was a girl minding the shop on her own who appeared to be well under 16. It would have been a tough location to make a go of even if the proprietors knew what they were doing.
