Spelling

Anyone out thereCan anyone out there fix it so that this site has an F7 type of function so people can check their spelling on the forum, most of it is abysmal? My six year old grandson can do better!

Try having dsylexia like me, yes an f7 would be great and sorry for all mine.

AnnI was classed as a real thicko at school and by my parents but  you should see me now I have progressed to Janet & John books not bad for 58

"Maybe we should 'off' known"Ann - that's one that is guaranteed to get up my (somewhat oversensitive) nose. When did the word "have" mutate into "of"???Maybe we need a grammar and synatx checker as well as a spell-check!! LOL

James, look at the last line of your post. You posted earlier you didn't like "off and of" problems????

Ahh a Proof reader. Now that is worth knowing. I don’t have a huge amount of work but from time to time I do quite a lot off copy on some very wordy designs. The problem is when you spend so much time re-reading your own work you become word blind.I've even tried reading it backwards which does help but my/your/our brain/brains become so used to it, it/they seem to just skip over the obvious “Eros”.  Go to TW7 and send me Private message with your details not a cunning plan to get you onto TW7 just easier than broadcasting my e-mail across the TW8. I didn’t notice if TW8 has a private message facility? If it has then mail me on that. I might have the odd bit of work. And I mean odd. Although I have to say the more time I spend on an artwork the more errors creep in, same for Websites. It’s some times quite embarrassing when you get a proof from the printers and you see some of the stupid mistakes. Same when you publish a website and you come back to it days later and look at the ridiculous use off  English!!

But if people never learned to spell/write properly, and went through life regardless, presumably in jobs that didn't require writing skills, then they wouldn't know that there was a problem with their spelling or grammar, as is apparent from several of our more prominent posters! Maybe we should 'off' known that 'there' spelling probs were a function 'off' 'there' background - frustrating, I know! I wince at some of (off?!!) the writing on here, but don't lose sleep over it. I proof read as a sideline, and am sometimes astounded at the mistakes 'good' writers make...And I hope I haven't made any huge errors in this post - how embarassing would that be?!!!!

I must admit that my spelling lets me down occasionally and I always double check what I post on this forum, but to be on the safe side I keep a very useful book by the side of my pc. It's called a dictionary.

Having a smell checker doesn't always works when the words are smelt write in the fist palace. But just the pong words used.Flippancy aside I looked at that for TW7 and struggled to get anything that actually worked well (if at all). The alternative I guess would be to type the message out in something that can spell check it and then cut and paste it back in to here.
