Am I missing something? ... Molton Brown

I have watched a very convincing lady suggesting on QVC that I am lacking somehow or failing somehow if I do not have a range of these very expensive products on my bathroom shelf. Last Christmas I went into the House of Fraser in Guildford and asked the girl to explain about the products and to show me the most popular.   She in turn did a very good sales talk but at the end of each stage she passed a bottle to me to smell – and each time, I could not smell anything I would wish to buy! Having seen the QVC lady again and back in Guildford today, I saw a whole Molton Brown shop so went in to try again.**&$@”#~!  I was still - completely unmoved - especially at the £ they charge – which is the only remarkable thing about each product!Sorry - but am I missing something - like when diluted they will fill the bathroom with fragrance and I will wilt in the heavenly odours?

Conal - you have to be a patient - but cucumber shampoo is a nice freebie.  Oh well, if you are in a 'vegetive' state you may as well smell like one - in the nicest possible way!

Why does Molton Brown produce industrial strength detergent?  It looks utterly vile down there.  He'll be needing a powerhose after that.  I guess with the drought'n all that might not be legal.

I sent the company an e-mail - saying much the same as on here - and they are going to send me some samples to try!Watch this space.......maybe I should ask for some extras for Nigel to dish out after the River clear up on Sunday 13th August from 1-4pm ... ?

Lois, hand over the info! My co-habitee Lou works as a Radiologist in a local hospital I'd like to know if thats why she's got a massive defecit and then I can seriously take the perverbial.I'd have though Korres would be better stuff really.  Its all totally organic stuff and I buy loads of it for my sisters at birthdays and Christmasses.

To stick up for Molton Brown!  Their cucumber shampoo is divine!    But I wouldn't pay for it:  it comes as a freebee on a certain hospital!

Someone wants to bottle the fine fragrance round about the front of the Waggon.  Lasts for ages does that.

I agree - I always buy the cheapest offer, generally Superdrug's own - wrinkles etc. are all down to your luck of the draw where your genes are concerned.

At the risk of crashing a girlie talk, I had to buy some stuff from Bodyshop because it would be the best shave I ever had, leaving my skin moist and smooth after every shave.It was all very organic, I'm sure I could have even served it as a chilled desert and it would have been fantastic. But do you know what it really was rather good. I've not used anything else since (2 years now). But I do laugh when I see some of these adverts. I think the cosmetic industry have re-written the periodic table!!!

Oh Lor, Ann - I have been shovelling in the pentopetides or whatevertheyare ever since the Hollywood whoeversheis told me that they are the latest musthaves - you ... mean ... they might not work?;-)Was thinking of trying Ponds, next!Audrey - that is what is missing - honesty.

Sarah,I know nothing about Molton Brown, but some of the make-up ads on t.v. have me in stitches - especially the anti-wrinkle creams.  Apart from the fact that the girls demonstrating these wonder creams are nowhere near being old enough for wrinkles, I just love the contents....lippso-this and dermo-that and utterly ridiculous made up ingredients.Moi?  I use Vaseline Intensive Care for cleansing, moisturising and anything else you can dream up.  Cost?  About Euros 4 per month.No rude remarks please........
