Beware the babbling blonde

Walking home from Waterman's cinema t'other night with wife and approached by(viewed in hindsight)ridiculously hysterical woman,mid to late 20's,quite skinny, claiming her car ran out of petrol and 'did I have any money'etc to help her .Gave her me change(£1.80)which was worth it to see the performance,but,again in hindsight, I think I'd been had.

I think its the same one who does the same in Feltham very same story has tried this twice on me and my wife, second time was a no answer, but the same person was yet again with the same story in Staines and ask my wife.

Yes you have been had and you helped the girl towards her next fix but I suppose it was better than her stealing it. And I am afraid it is 'Kind Souls' like yourself that end up getting mugged by her friends waiting down the road!!!!

You seem to know a lot about her.Do you know her?Not been mugged yet(am 47).Someone tried once and lost their front tooth.A decision whether to give money to such a person is a personal one .No preaching,please.

Check the chiswick w4 website there has been numerous disscussions regarding people asking for money they have lots of different discriptions of people as well. One of whom knocks on front doors.

The funny side is when this person tried the same story on us and before she could get into flow I asked if she had come to return the £5.00 she had been given last time and that was very kind of her.The downside is this person going to go stealing or worse still for a young woman is to get into prostitution or a violent attack on somebody for the money in order to buy drugs. Normally I would be up front and say look here is a quid or some money but go and get some help but it takes judgement of the situation as there may be other reasons for the need for money

SNT will hold meetings for the wards they are involved in but as with everything the goverment and Ken Livingston have rushed everything through please be patient everybody involved had pre-booked holidays so things have been slow off the ground,but any problems in your neighbourhood can be posted here, why not start a new string but keep it sensible.BE SAFE

Haven't met this lady but have encountered similar scam artists. What I usually say is - 'don't worry. The police can issue you with a travel warrant to get you home. I'll call them for you.' Funnily enough they disappear pretty quickly at this point.

Hi Guys she has moved over to Isleworth now a few residents (inc our Vice chair) has been approached by her now.My V.C was approached twice in 1wk with the same story ran out of petrol no money etc he told her AGAIN!! and she stormed offSo if you are around Isleworth be Warned.

The despicable thing about this kind of crime is that its victims are likely to be those of a trusting and kindly nature making us a less trusting and kindly society. Hopefully spreading the word like this makes these people less successful.

Does anyone out there have any proof that this person needed drugs or used them, I think not. This kind of scam has always existed and it serves no one any good to assume every dishonest act is drug motivated

Quite agree.No evidence of her being out of her head on anything.Behaviour a little 'speedy'but she may have a nervous disposition.She'll get a piece of my mind next time,never mind my small change.

I have just encountered this woman. First I saw her walking down York Road crying.  When I cam out of the corner shop in Windmill Road, Opposite Orchard Road she was trying to get money off someone stood at the E2 Bustop.  She then approched me asking for money.  She was ladened down with plastic bags and 'plastic orange boxes'.  She told me that she was desperate.  Her car had run out of petrol and someone had stolen her purse.  She said if I could give her money for petrol she would leave me her car registration number and where her car was so she could give me my money back.  She also told me that the plastic orange box was full of her jewellery, and she was wiling to sell me something.  I only had 15p in change which I offered her.  She declined but I must say, very politely.

I am one of the Police Safer Neighbourhood Team officers for your area i have only recently had a look at this thread and thought i should set the record straight about this  individual.Please please do NOT give her moneyshe is, as you have correctly deduced is a scam artistWe know exactly who she is and she was warned last week about doing thisAny money you give her will only go straight to a drug dealer the very same day, so that she can get some crack cocaine! unfortunately it only costs £5 a wrap/rock of crack in Brentford. Pity you can't put up a couple of posters with her face on them warning unsuspecting people,particularly at this time of year  when they may feel guilty not giving,that she is a con artist.It may induce a feeling,obviously currently lacking in her,of shame and remorse.Still.I suppose we wouldn't want to offend her,eh?

On Monday my Mother in law 2 be was approached by a Scruffy looking black guy on a push bike outside Tesco Express.He stated he needed help as his electric had gone and he had no food and his Kids were starving.I looked out my window and noticed he was asking everyone.I went down and told him i was calling the Police and he stated he wasn't scared and what could they do i said you are not supposed to do this and your probably Lying he got nervous and Rode off Down teesdale Gardens.He is around mid/late 30's. Scruffy dresser, had a Yellow workman Jacket on riding a Bike.
