We ought to be out in the fresh air...but not without leaving the Brentford Forum in fine form!So a few questions from me ..or from other Forum visitors.....to divert the the mind away from you know what...and let's see what happens.

Jim,The Orient Express picture is 20's genre of Art Nouveau or more generally Vintage Art. Try looking up Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his ilk. The first picture you put is really just an Illustrator piccie. Also look here if you like the sort of art and poster styles. http://www.allposters.com/gallery.asp?CID=2953C791FE2F4D168AD927C154C5B746&txt

Jim,I may be barking up the wrong tree, but this painting seems a little after the style of Toulouse Lautrec, the chronicler of Parisian nightlife,Moulin Rouge etc.Don't know what style he painted in,suggest Bohemian?
Actually I don't know the answer to this one..and so I'm trying to find out. Your suggestions/answers so far are good.!
That’s right Tower Bridge! An afternoon out on a Riverboat shuffle..and Tower Bridge was raised for us!Cameras at the ready…and as we passed underneath the view became most unusual.OooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooSo, spot on Nigel…and thanks to all entrants for trying!
Modern expressionism?
battersea power stn.?
I'll make a wild guess. Is it Art Nouveau?

Is it the flood gate on the Thames?
Ann S. Allridge ● 6828d
Tower Bridge would be my guess.

Yes it does make the silly little troubles we have seem so trivial I will try to think of something that can boost the fund for her!!!!
Helen Fogarth ● 6828d
Yes. It is a heartrending situation. She and her family have an awful battle to fight.
You are right Jim. Reading this website is an inspiration.

Its a tourist attraction!
Ann the sun is out...but there are signs that Autumn is arriving. The Osterley Park trees are changing colour already.Sorry that the style of "art"?is not to everyones taste..and I can understand that..and it would suit my walls either..but I wondered what it was called. This Orient Express brochure cover seems to be in similar style.
Graphic? Wouldn't have it on my walls!

This lady was photographed in Ealing asking for money..under the pretence of needing financial help..and the photo..with others..has appeared on the Ealing and Acton Forums. An Acton poster also recognised her from this picture as being someone who lives across the road from him..and who he indicated had a history of pestering locals too..sometimes at odd hours of the night.Does she operate in Brentford or Isleworth? recognise her?
Jim,I was just about to go out and charge up my lawn mower battery.......you said in your earlier posting we should be outside in the fresh air, now you are making us use our poor old brains rather than hands!Mind you, today the sun can't make her mind up and is fighting a losing battle with the clouds so it isn't very enticing out there. Can't answer your question, but the picture does nothing for me.
This picture appeared in Times2 on Wednesday 23rd..and I find it attractive. If I can find out what style it is called..then I can trawl the world for other examples!!
