Ear plugs for a good nights sleep?

Went clay-pigeon shooting at Yiewsley near Northolt yesterday..with an organised group..and was duly kitted out with some earplugs to block out the noise from some 100 rounds of fire.!No..not real pigeons..just clay discs that are fired out like a discus. Bang, bang bang..and I missed many...and came last out of a group of 9.So, late last night I wore the earplugs when I went to bed...and my..what an improved quality of sleep!.. Or was it the curry and two beers I'd enjoyed?That 8am road noise..and the aircraft flying over from 4.55am..were subdued..and I arose this morning quite renewed...having had an undisturbed sleep...for a change.Do you wear earplugs?  I'll do a second test tonight.

Jim,Silence is golden here at night - might get a sqawk from an owl or a screech from a fox but that's all.  Total silence - gorgeous.Are you too young to remember those ghastly brown rubber earplugs they issued for the air raids?  I don't know which smelt the worst the gas masks or the ear plugs.  We never used them and slept through everything that the Ack Ack and Hitler threw in our direction."Is it alright, Mum?"  "Yes.  Go to sleep."  That was it....as long as she said it was O.K. we were content.

KeithI paid £30 for instruction,hire of rifle  and 40 rounds of ammunition!!..over a period of 2 hours at the Yeading place.. so it was say £10 more than I had expected..being with a sub group of 3 of us learners.Most enjoyable though..but most important was the introduction to earplugs..and the headphone type! Never realised that noise disturbed the quality of my sleep so much!

Used them for years Jim, due to the snoring of 'im indoors originally, but quality of sleep is much improved and now I couldn't do without them, recommend Superdrugs ones as they last longer.
