Fan Palm needs a good home
You will have seen the admirable initiative by Steve and James Smith to raise funds for the Charlotte Robinson Trust. (See thread "Do you need help with your domestic duties? Then do it while raising money for charlotte!...") Here's another opportunity to contribute, and at the same time gain a new feature in your garden!A good home is needed for a 5-year-old European Fan Palm (Chamaerops humilis), now 80 cm (32") in height. (See photo below.) These palms can withstand temperatures down to -12ºC. This one has been outside in Chiswick for 5 years. Currently it's in a plastic (and rather wonky) Versailles pot. Total height of pot and palm is 135 cm (53"). Could be transplanted to a similar pot, or planted in the ground in a sunny spot where its final height could be 2 m (6 ft) or more. It's going to get too big for our small garden, so we're offering it to a good home in return for a donation to the Charlotte Robinson Trust. Transport can be provided (Jim Lawes has very kindly offered his van).In the event of more than one offer, the biggest donation will win! Either bid here or e-mail me by clicking on my name above.
