As you climb the stairs at the Isleworth Public Hall..this decorative window comes into view.ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooGood to hear that Christine Diwell of the Isleworth Society "and many other hats" has been chosen to join the Isleworth and Brentford Area Committee as a co-opted member..together with Aljos Farjin,a Brentfordian for at least 13 years.Both had to survive tough grilling during the selection process.

Quite an interesting lecture on the principles behind the development of housing costing £60,000 that would require minimal running/energy costs. Can't say the architectural aesthetics were inspired, but i applaud the underlying philosophy and commitment of a new breed of architects truly concerned with planetary issues.The exhibition itself is more interesting still, ranging from simple practical and existing African village flat-packs, to water-living (hmmmm), to more imaginative central London and elsewhere solutions to community life started from scratch.

Another date of interest on the 10th, though the exhibition goes on 'till the 27th:10th October, 6.30pmRIBA Sustainable Living exhibition at St Paul's Church, Brentford in October An exhibition of challenging new ideas and current examples of sustainable design by London architects will be at St Paul's Church, St Paul's Road, Brentford, Middlesex TW8 0PN until 26 October. Sustainable Living by Design will feature 32 schemes of built and conceptual architectural projects. These explore how architects in London are using their expertise to revitalise the city fabric. Accompanying the exhibition will be a presentation about "SixtyK House" a project featured in the exhibition by Alan Shingler, Associate at Sheppard Robson. This free event will take place at 6pm on 10 October (lecture starts at 6.30pm).
