Brentford's Eden House School problem..and the Council's webcast

Last night, I was looking at the Civic Centre's very helpful and informative webcam archive..and noticed that if I clicked on the underlined word "EXECUTIVE"...I'd be able to watch the Borough's key committee at work...on Tuesday 7th Novemeber just past.I was interested in all the various matters covered and the noted the input of many of the key players. At the 37 minutes 8 seconds point Councillor Gerald McGregor introduced the subject of the Eden School,Brentford which I had read about briefly in the BC&I Times last week. Cllr McGregor's explanation of the problem was very clear and the quality of his speech delivery was impressive.  The School,whilst performing well, had some seeming financial problems behind the scenes.You can see Cllr MaGregor's performance by "copy and pasting" the following URLhttp://www.hounslow.ukcouncil.net/site/#pp5855Yep, I thought..the Council Tenant's illegal sub-letting of Council Space to the School..who themselves are seemingly not paying their taxes or bills...doesn't seem right...and I go along with the Cllr.----------------------------------------------------Then this evening I thought I'd check Google about the Eden School and I was directed to the Brentford Chiswick & Isleworth Times website report: and the accompanying video.http://www.richmondandtwickenhamtimes.co.uk/rttbulletin/display.var.1015697.0.homeless_school_forced_to_study_in_library.php----------------------------------------------------The video.http://www.richmondandtwickenhamtimes.co.uk/videonews/index.var.1215.0.0.php----------------------------------------------------So: the children look jolly..and the Headmistress live and active..but what a problem has fallen on Councillors and the Council Department. Any thoughts on how it has/should be handled and how will it be resolved?

Thanks for responding Vanessa. Yes, I agree it's a "below the belt" by that Headmistress....and then to splash her racist accusations across the local newspaper.All BC&I readers should really have had a look at Mr MacGregor's report first..particularly regarding bad debts etc ...before making a judgement. The Councillor praised certain Civic Centre staff too for their action and activities in coping with the "out of order" behavior.

Jim - Have you seen the article about this "school" on the front page of the BC&I Times?  I think the Head - has really sunk to an all-time low with her comments and the fact she has gone running to the Hounslow Racial Equality Council. The fact that they are a private enterprise and were illegally in a property owned by Hounslow Council seems to have passed this silly woman by, to resort to the type of comment she has is a bloody disgrace. Talk about the last refuge of the scroundrel - it is no longer patriotism - it is this type of accusation.
