NEW SHOPS IN BRENTFORD

Has anyone tried the new greengrocer in the High Street yet?  Run by a very personable chap called Rahim. Excellent value and the choice is amazing.  I don't know how he does it for the price, and I do hope he can maintain this quality. This is certainly a very welcome addition to the High Street. Another little gem is The Bijou Box which has recently opened just round the corner from the Art Shop. I've bought several Christmas presents in there already.

You're right - it is.  Leika or something.  Just shows you -perhaps having a shop name no one can remember is not such a good idea ....!  Anyway, I wish them well with the Bijou Box.

Keith, we have so few shops in Brentford surely you haven't missed this one?!  The shop selling artists' materials is next to the Magistrate's Court on the corner of the market square. They have cleverly opened up the storeroom at the back of the shop - access is between the shop and the magistrate's court opposite The Weir. I was very sorry to see Gifted go, so this is a welcome replacement.

It is good news to have a green grocer to challenge Tesco and Somerfield. I will be giving this place a go(a KILO of garlic £1.99!) and good ,fresh looking fayre.Open until 10pm,so the owner told me.

If you mean the new shop with all the fruit and vegtables displayed outside by the bus stop near the Brentford Tandoori Deborah then I must admit I was very impressed the other evening when I popped in.Everything looked so fresh and colourful and made it very tempting to buy something.20 lemons for a pound! and beautiful looking artichokes and apples etc on display outside,and a truely fantastic range of exotic foods inside plus lovely service as well makes this a place well worth visiting.

Wonder if these shops will survive the(now legendary)developments proposed for the parish,or will rent/rates be too high for the'little man'and will we enter the Starbucks universe where only the corporations survive.
