Great West Road Christmas turn off!

Well, drove down the GW road tonight (between Gillette Corner and Boston Manor Road) and very disappointed in the lack of Christmas trees! Only Glaxo have put up a few. Gosh when our children were small we used to always have to drive home that way so that they could see the lights.Shame on all the businesses along there!

I object to Christmas starting in October but the whole of December is perfectly acceptable.

"I've just driven from near Western Internation Market in the top left corner of the Borough..all the way down Western Road to Norwood Green and having passed 500 houses..only saw two with Xmas Lights."So what? It's only 10 December; there's another 2 weeks before Christmas!  Why would you want to buy mince pies 2 weeks beforehand?  I know all the shops are doing their best to increase their trade, but do we all have to extend Christmas to cover the whole of December?

I've just driven from near Western Internation Market in the top left corner of the Borough..all the way down Western Road to Norwood Green and having passed 500 houses..only saw two with Xmas Lights.From Norwoood Green to Heston..passing some 200 residences ..only one display.Turning into Alderney Avenue (none) and the whole length old Jersey Road (one).    As you say..a Christmas turn off this year?  A shame really.I've heard that there is a delightful Christmas Tree on display in Old Isleworth...and I know that Plum Duff Bakery in Southfields Road W4 will have knock- out mince pies again!  So it's not all misery!! ;0)

From Spur Road to Brentford Half Acre, NO CHRISTMAS LIGHTS.Stopped off at 4, yes 4, food shops and NO MINCE PIES, is Brentford bypassing Christmas this year?

It's still only the 9th December Linda..there's still 14 days to go!  During the next week will be just about the right time for illuminating Brentford and its environs.    Brentford High Street hopefully will look fantastic..and the frontage of PC World, Old Gillette..and Tescos should be a knockout!We'll look out for you..and note when the lights get switched on..so that you can come  and revisit ...and rekindle memories of years gone by.
