What would a gal carry inside a £750.00 handbag?

Did you bag a bargain in the sales?I was walking past the handbags inside a posh store in Guildford when underneath the 50% off sign I spotted a lovely blue hangbag - £7.56 said the lable.  Crumbs!  I thought - then I realised it was £756.00 ...... I am sooo glad that I didn't buy it a week earlier!;-)

I bet Desperate (Surrey) Housewives spend the salary of several third world doctors on their nails a year.  I was just rather disgusted and what I viewed in that indoor market that day. The outrageous Yahing was grotesque.  Still, it was highly insightful I have to say, and made me utterly happy that none of them were anything like my Mother.

You are probably right, Conal.Years ago, before all these nail parlours popped up - I took myself off into the depths of Surrey to have some false nails applied.The girl stuck on ones around 4 inches over the ends of my fingers (instant chop sticks) and then reduced them to what I thought was a manageable level.  In my case, around half an inch over the ends of my fingers.  They looked absolutely lovely - until a day later when I made one of the beds.  The others didn't fare much better, even with my marigolds.Her 'normal' clients all had maids!

Sarah,I can imagine that there are many bored and rich Surrey 'ladies who lunch' that can afford this tag.  A few months ago I was at Sandown Race Course for a Continuing Professional Development Event.  I escaped at lunch from all the networking (which I hate) to take a wander. I found the exhibition hall market which was full of cloned Surrey women with blond hair, barbour jackets, and pearls.  The stalls were full of handicrafts and food items.  The price of a small homemade christmas cake was around £40.  You could hear ladies saying "oh thats a snip, and you can pass it off as your own, haw haw!"  It's another world, is Surrey.I felt relieved to get back to Brentford.
