LOCAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK - Consultation details update

A key opportunity to influence planning decisions in the years to come....Following the introduction of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, Hounslow Council has made progress in the delivery of its Local Development Framework (LDF). The LDF will comprise of a series of Local Development Documents (LDDs) which will replace the existing Unitary Development Plan, and provide the basis for spatial planning in the Borough.The timetable for the production of the LDF and further detail about the documents the Council is producing is set out in the Local Development Scheme. The Statement of Community Involvement, the first Local Development Document, was adopted by the Council in September 2006, following two stages of consultation. The Brentford Area Action Plan and Employment Development Plan have both been through two stages of consultation and are expected to be submitted to the Secretary of State in June 2007, with Examinations at the end of 2007 or beginning of 2008.The Council is now starting work on its Core Strategy, with the first stage of consultation (Issues and Options) to take place in May 2007.
