Camogie Open Day this Saturday 14 April

The Tara Camogie Club Open Day is on this Saturday at Greenford so a chance for ladies to take up a new sport or pick up the hurl again in the promised sunshine!  Current Club members range in age from 12 years to 40+ and as we have junior and senior teams cater for all standards.The Open Day commences at 11am until 3pm and there will be an opportunity to puck a few balls around and meet and speak to Tara members.  The Club will have ample equipment such as hurls, helmets and sliotars on the day but please wear comfortable clothing and trainers/boots.   Pre-booking is not essential but would be appreciated.  If this is not possible – just turn up.  Contact:  Sheila – 0777 1957 341 or 020 8561 3544.  Further details can be found at  www.camogie.co.uk

Ann, suppose accidents like that can happen in any sport.  Well the Open Day was a real success.  We had a good variety of age and skill level on the day and all returned for training last night.  Great to have them keen!! New players always welcome throughout the year.

Played in kids' teams (mixed) when on holidays in Ireland back in the distant past, and I have a lovely scar over my left eyebrow as evidence!My cousin John's hurley was broken and repaired but as he lashed the sliotar in my direction, the hurley broke again and while the sliotar (ball) went over my head, the broken part of the hurley hit me in the face....The joys of childhood........

"hurls, helmets and sliotars" sounds interesting! might make a variation to the fitness regime ... or not - anyone played before?
