Ann K££n primes Gilligan and Evening Standard for FIFTH anti-ICG hatchet job

Andrew Gilligan of the London Evening Standard is set to produce a fifth attack on the Independent Community Group, possibly on Monday, at the behest of Ann K££n MP.I have it on good authority that the Standard will reveal the previously undiscovered fact that in the 1980s I was a member of the National Front.  If I am correct this will be the fifth such revelation to appear in the Standard, the four most recent all having been made within the past fourteen months. In the build-up to the local elections in 2006 the Standard published a claim that I had a criminal conviction for a racially-motivated assault on a black police officer.  This is a complete fabrication, and I wrote to the Editor at the time to request an apology.Far from providing an apology, Gilligan decided to call my bluff this April by repeating the allegation, this time using the even more lurid description of "a race-hate attack against a black police officer".Whilst I have a lot of work to do with my new role at the Council and don't wish to have all my time eaten up fighting legal actions which can be costly, I decided following the most recent such allegation that enough was enough and this particular matter is now in the hands of solicitors.  I am particularly keen to deal with this this time around because the most recent allegation seems to have been written in the full knowledge that it was false. This time Gilligan has actually attempted to make contact with me to enable me to provide him with a one-liner which he could use to create an impression of having given both sides of the story.  Whilst I am not prepared to give an interview to such a specimen, he did unfortunately manage to have a brief telephone conversation with my wife Caroline during which he confirmed that his latest effort, like the last ones, is being penned at the request of Mrs. K££n.When asked by Caroline whether he felt it was compulsory to write and re-write the same story over and again every time Mrs. K££n so demands, especially as the story is so old and tired that even the small local papers don't consider it news any more, he replied meekly: "Well she is a Member of Parliament".The Standard is not traditionally a strong supporter of the New Labour Party and it was this paper which actually broke the "Mr. & Mrs. Expenses story in 2005.However it seems clear that Mrs. K££n or somebody close to her has something over the Standard which requires them to produce repeated and if necessary defamatory attacks on her opponents whenever she should demand.I intend to investigate the relationship between Gilligan/Evening Standard and the K££ns and to produce a dedicated website showing my findings. One kind individual has already provided me with a useful lead on this matter.  If anybody who has any information which they might wish to share with me, in confidence if necessary, please send it to me at phil@communitygroup.org.uk.  Many thanks.

I have met many thousands of people in my time...both in my work and play...and my antennae can sometimes pick up interesting vibes. At no time in my dozen or so meetings with Phil Andrews have I detected anything dodgy or untoward. I support what Phil does for the community, and supported his fight to dispose of the Labour Administration. I find that I disagree maybe with some of his views (eg starting the war in Iraq), but I have great faith in the wisdom of the Conservative Group..who have deemed him to be a person ok to do business with.In all his writings on these Forums, I find his explanations almost perfectly written and thorough. He's a nice chap...probably with a very thick skin to cope with all the flack he has received over the years..but he has a fighting and hardworking spirit that shines through ..in an honest way too.In the case of Mrs Keen, I have only seen her once..at that famous Election Night at the Civic Centre..and my antennae and her smirk sensed a person of dodgy character. The stories of "dirty tricks" in the local campaigns..and the gobbledeegook writings of Alan Sheerings on these Forums..and on Election Material..and on their unlauched website have me sensing that the whole lot are not fit to serve our Community. If you listened to Peter Thompson, the Council Leader, speaking about Ann Keen's non co-operation..you will sense that again. As Gareth said ""The sooner the Keens are disposed of, the better.""  But we can expect more of this dodgy saga from the Labour Party group..and from those pulling the strings behind the scenes. Phil: I'm with you..and believe your side of the story

Phil Andrews writes:"In the meantime the imperative to remove the K££ns and to replace them with MPs who are prepared to accept the will of the electorate and work with the local authority becomes still greater."  I don't pretend to even half understand politics and don't really want to but it seems to me that many want Mr & Mrs Keen to quit or be ousted because its rather silly to have MP's who refuse to represent their constituents at local government level simply because they are upset that the Conservatives and ICG took control of the Council after 35 years of Labour rule - is that correct? The 2005 election results as follows:Isleworth Brentford Chiswick  Ann Keen, Labour                              18,329  Alexander Northcote, Conservative            13,918Andrew Dakers, Liberal Democrat                10,477  John Hunt, Green Party                            1,652  Phillip Andrews, Community                      1,118  Michael Stoneman, National Front                523  Feltham HestonLabour Co-op Alan Keen 17,741 Conservative Mark Bowen 10,921 Liberal Democrats Satnam Kaur Khalsa 6,177 Recent reports would indicate that Cameron has done some considerable harm with his Grammar School blunder and is by all accounts unrepentant. This has lost him both party and public support. Brown on the other hand is gaining right wing support on his latest anti terror stance. If the general consensus amongst you politicians is that it is of the highest priority for the Keens to go -  is it not imperative that you get the Lib Dems to withdraw this time round so that there is an even and clear contest?
