Harry Holland book

Has anybody read the Harry Holland book and if so what is your opinion, I found it a good read as I knew some of the people mentioned in it and the places named but I did find there was a lot of name dropping. Also they way the author has written it it sounds like Harry was a cockney barrow boy not a lad from Brentford. I knew him in the old days and he was always a polite man and respectful to his elders. Maybe we need a new boxing club in the area to get the boys of the streets and instill some discipline. My husband boxed as a teenager like a lot of boys did in those days, both my boys took it up when they were young and they turned out well.

Jim,Harry was born in Brentford, London Rd just by the canal bridge I think it was one of the old houses that they have just pulled down next to the pub. Ron Eade was the man from the cafe he took it over from his mum, he has now retired I think it is still in the family run by his daughter,(the best sausage rolls for miles) he is mentioned in the book, "Harry Holland A man of many parts". The boxing club that Harry ran was the Hogarth Boxing Club well known for the boxers he trained, Gary Hobbs was one a local boy from Brentford until an unrelated injury stopped his fighting career.

Is it a newly published book Helen?  And is there an ISBN number?I don't recall Harry Holland's name at all..and the only boxing link I can recall with Brentford..is the chap who used to run the Boston Cafe in Boston Manor Road. He had pictures and boxing bits pinned to the walls.Where was the venue of local boxing meetings? Was there ever a Brentford or Brentford and Chiswick champion?
