Can i ask the person who is posting comments about me and Phil on here behind a made up name to STOP please.I am getting blamed for it and i don't need this stress so please if you have any respect for me PLEASE STOP!!

Got this email Last Night from Neighbour net who run the site:Dear Mr. Anderson,We have investigated the postings that were made yesterday and forwarded all therelevantinformation to the ISP of the person responsible with an official complaint.Until we hear from them we are unable to confirm the identity of the person. In themeantime ifyou do see any posts that you consider to be suspicious please let us know.Your sincerely,Patricia Avery

Don't think Jorgen was referring to the quality of the posts rather the software which is very very basic. However given the volume of traffic and this and other sites the engine of it must be something like SQL so it is a bit like a Daewoo with a Ferrari engine.  Personally I think there is a lot to be said for simplicity and that probably helps its popularity although some more features wouldn't go amiss.Upgrading wouldn't help security and passwords aren't going to stop people making up details. I don't think there is a big problem with people pretending to be other users, from what Simon says the rogue punter didn't use his name. There would be nothing to stop people registering with any name even if you did ask for passwords.The most important thing for security is the moderator who seems to have done their job in this case. Nobody would have known about this unless Simon brought it to our attention. All the most amazing software in the world can't improve on a human being actually checking for scumbags making a nuisance of themselves.

I wouldn't say this forum is Crap its very good and somethings i find interesting inc Jims Photos..But i agree with your last comments about an upgrade then NO 1 can post under fake names and then no 1 will get blamed i am all for it.

Let's face it. This forum is... well crap. I think it's the only discussion forum I've ever seen that doesn't require password when logging in. Anyone knowing a users e-mail address can login as that person. Bit crazy really...Maybe it's time to upgrade to a proper php/sql forum :)

KevinI can understand after what i did 2yrs ago on here under the name "Jason Stanley" that some people will not believe me when i say I've not posted on here under false names since then and this "Malcom" Character isn't me but i am getting flak on another site for it from certain individuals and i cant reply to their comments as the owner of the site has banned me AGAIN! Just because i pointed out that it wasn't under new management.Ive just sent the owners of this site a email asking well begging them to investigate the recent postings on here and i hope i can clear my name threw them.If anyone wants a copy of that email i sent please let me know and i will send a copy to you so you know i am not lying or hiding anything.

I didn't see the messages in question and most people would have been none the wiser if you hadn't brought up the subject. It is very difficult for you to prove you didn't post them and many people aren't going to believe you because of what you have done in the past. Despite that I do think you are a decent enough kind of bloke and think you are probably being got at.

Why don't you e-mail the editor directly Simon instead of making it worse?  You have a direct address to hold a conversation with them about it in private.

Posting up the IP address would prove nothing. You could have used a different computer and the likelihood is that you have a dynamically allocated IP address which changes after each session.You have a bit of history posting under false names so if someone is trying to discredit you then probably reckon your denials won't be very credible.
