Talking about History of  …  … Another loophole seemingly, is to allow vandalism by neglect – something we have often commented on in Brentford.  Then people get drawn into the have to do something else as the building has been so badly neglected.  Surely the owner is responsible for that and not the long suffering community?  I have been waiting for the minutes of the Brentford and Isleworth monitoring meeting to appear on the web site and looked up another committee to find something interesting.Heston and Cranford Area Committee (Planning) Meeting held 7th June 2007.http://213.210.33.3/ieListDocuments.asp?CId=234&MId=3772&Ver=4&J=7Item 4 talks about ‘The Hermitage’ but gives no address which limits any further checking of the information and there is no e-mail address for the clerk to the committee to clarify the address. There is a cry for help from the local community represented by a Miss Bull as this building is a Grade 11 listed building seemingly under threat of being knocked to the ground possibly because vandalism by neglect?  From a report made possibly by Council officials “Members noted the content, which outlined the poor physical state of the building which is a health and safety concern for locals.”  I wonder why the poor state of the building should be a planning concern?  There appears to be money to develop it, but not to maintain it?“Miss Bull's letter called upon Councillors to 'not' make a binding decision concerning the future of the Hermitage at any single meeting of the Heston and Cranford Area Committee planning.”I would call upon the thinkers of the planning process to discuss why a listed building (of interest of the heritage to the Borough and to all Councillors) is being decided upon by a local committee anyway!Anyone know where this property is?  Any local history attached to it?
