Gillian Clegg's new book

I will be sending for a copy very soon.  It sounds like a very interesting pulication, especially the barges and C.H.G. Good luck on your retirement, Gillian;  you are handing over to a very able lady - Carolyn Hammond.It is wonderful to have such people in charge of our 'fading memories'.

Thanks David, what an excellent site it is for Chiswick. It is very clear and gives a refreshing tour of the history of Chiswick.Why don't we have an equivalent one for Brentford and incorporate a lot of what the forum members have pointed out about Brentford's rich history? It would make a fabulous showpiece for the image of Brentford in its flowering regeneration.Who is behind the site - who funded it and manages it?How can we get our own version? I wonder if Gillian Clegg would be interested in a www.brentfordhistory.org?  I've just checked the www.brentfordhistory.org url and upcomes the message " Brentford & Chiswick Local History Society  coming soon...". Maybe they are planning one?
