Phil Woolas (Minister of State, Department for Communities and Local Government):No representations by Ministers from this Department have so far been made to the London borough of Hounslow about its relationship with local Members of Parliament.------------------------------------------------------------------I don't know what answer she was expecting.Archie Leech (?) has provided the following comment on the site:It seems that this woman rarely asks a question but whenever she does it almost invariably has something to do with herself and her own political problems.Her relationship with the London Borough of Hounslow is precisely what she herself has made it by "reserving the right" to withdraw her co-operation from the new administration until it appoints a cabinet which is to her liking.She can normalise the arrangement at any time simply by dropping her sulky stance but refuses to. Phil Woolas was absolutely right to give her short shrift.

Am I right in thinking that Phil Woolas once lived in Chiswick and was Chair of the Brentford and Islewrth Constituency Labour Party and therefore well acquainted with the Keens? As was Caroline Flint, another Government Minister ?Phill Woolas's answer was of course quite correct. It would not be appropriate for the Government to make representations to a London Borough or any other Borough or Council about their relationships with their local MP's.

Ann Keen rarely speaks in the House of Commons or indeed at public meetings in her constituency.She has made a complete and utter fool of herself and her husband by mounting a vendetta against the democratically elected members of Hounslow Council.I have been in Isleworth and Brentford this week and in both wards local residents who normally vote Labour have been critical of her on 2 major issues:1. Her support for the illegal war in Iraq which has led to the derath of 600,000 Ira qis and 2 million refugees as well as the dath over at least 156 British soldiers.2. Her lack of support for Hounslow Council.Now that she has achieved her life-long ambition of sub-ministerial office as a PUS in the Department of Health, she should rise above her petty feud with Councillor Phil Andrews and concentrate on trying to sort out the mess the Labour Government has made of the NHS.

Paul you can do better than this, let us debate the Tory/ICG council plans for the next 12 months. Why don't you open up with one of the policies you feel will really benefit the local community, say in Isleworth and we can have a decent discussion on this thread.

Agreed Gareth and as sure as night follws day you will not have her lapdog Alan Sheerins defending her on this matter simply because he also know the full facts,well at least he should do.If by the remotest chance Alan does respond then I wonder if he could also clarify once and for all this Covent Garden expenses issue Ann and Alan K££n continue to exploit?The usual reply is along the lines of "I have already done so" etc but I have trawled through the search facility on here and can find no record of any explanation.It has been mentioned on other threads that some form of complaint has been made against them  and I was hoping Alan could expand on this?
