Here is the Kew Bridge Road picture...outside the Brentford Market.  You can't miss the tram lines..so guess it's before 1925 at least..maybe 1910 or something.Notice the youngsters on the pavement. So smart..would it been a Sunday?

Well spotted Neil.and I share Duncan's sentiments.I would have been 16 years old at that time..and must admit that I cannot remember the High Street demolitions. Would they have been 1959-1961?The trolleybus would have been cruising along..hardly making any noise..compared with the throaty roaring beltching wide animals we have had on the roads during the past few decades.If that trolleybus turned right at Half Acre..it would be the 655 to Hanwell etc...otherwise it's the 667 to Fulwell and Hampton Court..or the 657 to Hounslow (the Wellington Road Junction where it did a U turn). The local trolley depot was where Access Self-Storage is now...near the Milford Arms!----------------------------------------------------------Neil: there are currently some great pictures for sale on e-bay. Gunnersbury Station in the 1930's..showing a steam train and four platforms and theres a fine picture of Kew Bridge Road outside Brentford Market too!In addition another Crowthers catalogue (250 pages) is up for grabs! (£15 buy now?).

What a good photo, Neil, a lazy summer afternoon, hardly any traffic, plenty of bikes and space to ride them. And there is one of those solid Morris Minors coming out of Catherine Wheel Road. I don't see one TV aerial. The frontage on the north side of the High Street is so much better than the hideous 60s replacement we have endured since.I enjoyed the imaginary stroll, so much more inviting than our present one, hopefully that will start to change next year.

Neil, looking at other pictures there, wouldn't you say the seller has the wrong date on the Bricklayers Arms Station? 1950, looks more like 1850 to me!
