Is it a record ?

The amount of time it is taking to complete the,now legendary,unwanted road widening scheme on London Rd. between the Coach and Horses and the canal bridge.I spoke to a nice lady called Poonan Pathak at the cc and it is all the faulty of those paragons of virtue bt and bgas.I drive past there daily and there is usually very little going on and often no one working there.It has been going on for months now and has caused more problems for traffic and pedestrians than it will ever'solve'imho.It is a bloody eyesore too and another example of how Brentford does not matter. I wonder if the main thoroughfare through Chiswick would have been treated in the same off hand way?

I know it's not the same part of Brentford but what about the works on the A4 starting at Windmill Road? These were going on at the beginning of the year, stopped for 5 minutes and then started again and I'm yet to see anyone actually doing any work. I did get a flyer saying that the work would be done at night and the lanes would be closed off then but one lane has been closed 24/7 for months now. I wonder if the people in charge have told the workers that they're supposed to take the cones in when they finish at 5 or 6 in the morning?

Indeed...seems like the daily life of the general public is just an inconvenience to these major corporations.I am sick to the back teeth of road works in the parish.It won't be long(!) before the work to rebuild the south of the broadways nallses all our lives up again(probably for years)and the road widening scheme is nullified because the high street will be coned off for all the plant and lorries needed for it.Maybe if the lunatics actually took over the asylum,they would do a better job.

You would think though Keith a little bit of co-ordination prior the works would be the order of the day. Don't these people ever speak to one another? By the way - I see the dreaded Kew Bridge bus lane is again rearing its ugly head, Brentford will be a no-go zone at this rate.

""I wonder if the main thoroughfare through Chiswick would have been treated in the same off hand way?""KeithHere is the view of Chiswick High Road at 7pm this evening!Traffic eastbound is having to be diverted...but W4 roads seemed quiet today 5pm ish...hardly a rush hour. Lots of folk away on hols no doubt.So Brentford is perhaps not alone! (but the road works outside the Watermans are a hassle!)
