That raised a good laugh Joan!!Hope you have some good success with Goggle Earth. There are several others that are worth trying too. Virtual something is a good one...but I've forgotten where I saw the list.Local.live.com is also good but it needs to be viewed on IE Internet Explorer..and not Firefox etc.Your arrival on the Forum has been special..and long may it last. Interesting reading Sarah. Perhaps I should hit the local papers. No I don't think so. I agree 1954 is not that far back, especially when I'm researching 1851. I'm off to research Devonshire, I found it on Google Earth and it seems to be all green fields. I don't have an address but this is where my  great-grandparent's originated from. So I'll gather some general information of the area and 'paste' it in my folder. Do you realise that I first posted on TW8 forum 13th April this year asking about Coley's, well tomorrow the 13th It's been 5 great months with you all on this forum. You are the best. If it's in the local papers Sarah..someone may see it who can help.Records about all burials in the Borough are kept by CIP I gather..and they were most helpful when I was trying to trace Mr Fenn of Syon Lodge fame..in Isleworth Cemetery.  They told me exactly were to look.Oh to have the research abilities of Joan ..our Forum friend in Adelaide. Actually 1954 is not too long back regarding a local death (Hanworth) and so maybe the Funeral Directors can be traced...or even a visit to Feltham Library might show up an appropriate Electoral Roll to locate the address in Hanworth.  Sometimes one can check microfiche of old local newspapers in the Libraries...or even old telephone directories to get the address..which must be a starting point..I would have thought.I'm way too behind with current tasks to take that one on...golly I'm even having to do my own washing and ironing at the moment..as my helper is away for a month or two!!However: Here's my contribution..which may be of use to someone.
