Edward, Hello again, and thanks..I'm now onto my 3rd Canon Ixus 500 camera...having damaged the previous one by taking those pictures in St John's Road..in the rain..or drizzle!!  (as you know)..and previously having No.1 stolen from my car.The LCD viewer on No 2 went blank..and apparently what one is suppose to do is remove the battery straight away..which might enable a drying out process to succeed.  So this old one (No 2)is currently being looked at at Chiswick Cameras and could cost £100 to repair! (pity!)In the meantime, Viv Griffith on the Chiswick Forum has kindly helped me out again. She found another Ixus 500 "in pristine condition" on e-bay recently for £115 including postage etc..and so she has supplied this No.3 that I'm now using.  These £100 expenses are a nuisance, yet they are modest compared with what I spend on vehicles etc!..and this picture taking activity is adding a lot of interest to my life and makes looking around the locality much more stimulating. As many will know, it's most enjoyable going on a photo expedition..as surprises and magic moments seem plentiful...and you can see that Duncan is enjoying his local travels! It's good news that more posters can now upload their pictures..and whilst these Forums are mainly for text and discussion perhaps..most people remark to me that pictures add interest..and pleasure..(most times!!).Those trips up the Brentford section of the canal with Nigel were most special for me..and for viewers..as we were illustrating Brentford from new angles..and from previously unknown locations.Your snaps from Weymouth were special too..and the sea view with the Waverley was extra good. Not sure how you got that sea effect.Duncan is now providing a feast of pictures..and with your goodself and Michael joining in with existing picture posters..the Brentford Forum should have a picturesque future!! Let's hope that picture posting doesn't stop Forum visitors from participating in the discussions. I don't think that's the case.
