Christmas Lights and Cards for Brentford

As you may be aware Brentford High Street Steering Group (BHSSG) has been working for the past year to inject new life into our shopping area.  Recent succeses include local area committee support for a new car park, attracting the WedgeCard loyalty scheme to the area and the launch of a new marketing-led High Street website.  We are now looking to introduce Christmas lights along the High Street and Albany Parade. We are the only town centre in the Borough that does not have Christmas lights.  Its now time that we lift spirits and encourage more trade in the holiday season with an impressive lighting display. We don't have much time and we need to raise money to be able to acheive our goal.  In the first year the cost will be most significant as we need to get the existing lamp posts adapted by the Council and purchase the lights.  The Council have agreed to store the lights when not in use but we will need to find our own storage container. We are approaching local business for sponsorship and inviting contributions including a container.  Any help from readers of this forum would be very much appricated. As part of the project we are looking to produce Christmas cards with scenes of Brentford which will be sold to raise money for the decorations and to also help a local charity, probably the Brentford Toy Library. We would love to hear from anyone who might have any interesting photographs of winter/snow scenes of Brentford who would be happy to donate them to the project.  Your name, as a way of thanks would be printed on the cards.  We are also looking for local businesses/groups who would be willing to sell the cards. Please contact Julia Quilliam at Quilliam Property Services  206 High Street  tel 020 8847 4737.Many thanks to you all.
