Traffic Accidents in South Ealing Road on August 14

On Friday, August 14, there was a traffic accident in South Ealing Road in the area near the cemetery, blocking traffic in both directions for some time. An ambulance attended, as well as four or five police cars. Obviously, somebody had been injured.Being 'only' human, I really would like to know what happened and whether the injured person has recovered, or is likely to.Does anybody know? Does anybody know where such information can be obtained?

I received a reply from the BBC concerning the journalist reporting live from the Twin Towers.  I could not see how he would have survived given his position as he spoke live on air - but apparently he did!Reply received -"I think you mean Steve Evans, who at the time was our North America business correspondent, and who is now the British Affairs Correspondent for the World Service. That's exactly it, Keith, the time lapse. I had looked out for a report of the accident in the (free) local paper but did not find a mention, nor, obviously, on the Brentford site on the Web. I was hoping one of the readers of the Forum has information.But thank you for your tip re Ambulance. I agree with you, though: it is doubtful they would divulge any useful information.

I understand how you feel about the accident you went past, Christl.  Your posting has just prompted me to mail the BBC concerning a reporter who was speaking live on air on his phone from beneath the twin towers on 9/11.I have often wondered what happened to him as he was running towards the foyer of one of the towers whilst on air.  As the events were happening and we were listening to the US reporters speculating on whether the sun had blinded the eyes of the first pilot and that was why the plane had hit the tower it became almost as if, as a viewer, we were there with this guy.

Christi,You could the ambulance service and say when and where the amb.attended and ,if you're lucky,they might tell you what happened.As you are not related to the person injured or don't know their name,they are unlikely to help.Considering the time lapsed,I doubt if you will get anywhere.Good luck
