Autumn Bazaar – Saturday 10th November 1.45pm – Isleworth & Syon School

Autumn bazaar time is upon us again!This is the major fund raiser for the local Osterley area Scout group.  It is being held at Isleworth & Syon School, Ridgeway Road on Saturday 10th November from 1.45.  Plenty of free parking spaces and just off the Great West Road – second turning on left hand side past Gillette Corner, when coming from Brentford.Organised youth activities for the Scout age range are few and far between and everything relies on goodwill and volunteers giving their time and energy.  This bazaar is run completely by volunteers and the Scouts themselves and is a well established part of the Community calendar.  You are bound to meet your neighbours and old friends.Please donate if you can or come along and bag a bargain!

Thanks Sarah for posting this.I can confirm that the dates are 8th November for collection and sorting, 15th for the bazaar. Venue, as usual Isleworth & Syon School, Ridgeway Road, Isleworth. Please come along and and pick up a bargain while helping 1st Osterley Scout Group.Please remember that girls are now welcome to join the Scouts. 1st Osterley Scouts aim to give our youth the traditional Scouting experience. They will learn skills and make friends that will stay with them for the rest of their days. If you have a child, aged 6+, who is looking to have fun one evening a week, please come along on the 15th and talk to one of the leaders. When I have the dates and time I will post them.  In the mean time if you are having a clear out would you consider the scouts?  Sorting day is 8th November I understand and I think the bazaar is on the 15th .....?

The volunteers are all hard at work tonight and will be at the school at the crack of dawn tomorrow getting everything ready for opening time at 1.45.Any last minute donations especially for the raffle, anyone?  :-)

Thanks for the hint about our e-mail, Jim.  I think it is sorted now.Amazing the number of top quality films and shows being donated as people switch from Video to DVD.  One of my neighbours donated most of The Simpsons amongst other films.  Best bargain we have had is a leather jacket for - well, I shan't say!  Come along and see for yourselves.:-)

It's a Bazaar certainly!Masses of things for sale..bicycles and books and tea and cakes. I hope to get along Sarah and will look out for you.Let's hope it's another great success.(Sarah: I've sent you an e-mail direct..and one via this Forum..and both came back to me "UNDELIVERABLE". ?? Could be my wonky computer/ISP/ Broadband)In the meantime, here's a picture of an LP record sleeve one of your friends sold me last year..the Brentford Museum's Wurlitzer being played!

The volunteers will be out and about at the crack of dawn tomorrow making the collections.Should you have any donations and if you aren't on the collection route - would you kindly drop them off at the Scout hut just off the A4 in Osterley Road.  As you turn into Osterley Road there is an alley behind the houses fronting the A4 and the hut is tucked in there.  If you get to the church, you have gone too far!Jewellry  -  Books  -  DVD's  -  Records  -  CD's  -  Videos  -  Clothes  -  White elephant  -  Furniture  -  Tombola  -  Toy'sThanks!

Paul - you will find lots of people you know at the bazaar !  It is a huge event and central in the community based at Isleworth & Syon School ... their Chair of Governors might even pop along ...?  :-)I met our Jim last year - caused much mirth when the message came through that there was a man sitting in the cafe who spoke to me on the Internet, asking to meet me! I last saw him wandering off with with a bargain bundle of LP's......
