Scyscraper planned for Ealing Broadway

A 40 storey skyscraper, designed by Foster and Partners is planned for Ealing Broadway. "How high will they be this far out after take off?"I've just had a look at WebTrak for Monday evening.  Over the Ealing Broadway area, they are between 4000 and 4500 ft.

Interesting web site for Heathrow, planes are taking off over Hanwell/Ealing now and heading towards where the cheese grater will be built. How high will they be this far out after take off?

Thanks Richard. I see it will go right over Chiswick and follow the M4 from the Chiswick Roundabout over Osterley Park.What do you see will be the key impacts of the new runway in terms of flight patterns and increased flights? Currently, up to about 7.00am the two runways are used for landings from the East, will they also land planes on the Third runway at this same time? Will the planes be as noisy for us in Brentford or is the runway further away or planes smaller?Do you think it is likely that the Night Flight restriction will be lifted?Do you think it is likely that the 'Runway Alternation' restriction will be removed?

There are pictures of the skyscraper and further discussion on EalingToday.co.uk. My view is that it will change the whole nature of the place and should be resisted as far as possible.

Hi Richard, I tried to imagine where the 3rd runway flight path would be in relationship to the current North one, which comes across Kew and crosses just south of Brentford Dock at a height of 1,500ft. I then thought if the Third runway will be north of this, I guessed the flightpath would be over Chiswick/North Brentford just south of Ealing Broadway. It will be a majestic sight to see planes coming in on all three runways, between 5.00 am and 7.00am.I was intrigued that people would want to live nearer (by 500ft up)to the landing planes.If the runway will be 1.5 miles south of Ealing Broadway, where will that be in relationship to Brentford? Could it be the High Street?

One of my good friends lives on Haven Green. He'll be overjoyed to see this monstrosity on his doorstep. And he'll be more upset there'll be knocking down two pubs and one of Ealing's most loved worst nightclubs as well!

"When the Third runway opens and they have planes landing from the east on all three runways at 6.00am, the people at the top of this building will be 500ft up, and just 1,000 ft below the planes at 1,500 ft."Not sure what your point is.  The landing path to the third runway will be about 2.5 km (1.5 miles) south of Ealing Broadway.  There are plenty of people in West London who are much closer, vertically and horizontally, to the existing flight paths.
