Postal Scam...

Postal ScamCan you circulate this around especially as Xmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by RoyalMail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call.If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate service regulator) at www.icstis.org.uk

Fran, Don't worry about it, it was just me having a moan as it seems everybody has to have a go at the police from time to time.Also the scam must be true as Mr Anderson has posted it on his site so that his doppleganger can read it (sorry if the spelling is wrong does he know what one is I wonder).

Actually received one of these cards about a month ago addressed to "the occupier".  Fortunately it went straight in the bin as I was not expecting any parcels, but..If this is a scam known to the Royal Mail why are they delivering the cards in the first place?

Fran, Thank you for the information. This was sent out across the Metropolitan Police Service today. I will get back to the originator of this warning & see if there is any other information to it. I'm sure the centre would have checked this scam out before circulating it to us, as we obviously wouldn't want to worry anyone unnecessarily. I will get back to you all tomorrow, if I can find any further information on it (it will be a busy day for us, being Halloween) Thank you as always, for your support!

Please don't knock them for trying to help as this scam has reared it's ugly head again in the UK. Would you rather not be warned when someone is after your money!

If this a known fraudulent operation, why can't the number be blocked by our Telephone services? Why can't the number be traced and the number be taken out of service?
