If global warming is such an inconvenient truth then removing all existing boaties and yards and building lots of car parks makes sense, because of course the new residents will need a place to put their new boats and cars, but potentially to the detriment and destruction of indigenous  existing community. As demonstrated so far in certain areas of brentford.(not all)If it were possible to incorporate us into the new ideas instead of pushing us around like monopoly pieces?,we would be very greatful. We do realise that Brentford is in need of regeneration but since when has regeneration meant removal. The southside has always been a bit well "crap"with asbestos roofs and general underfunded brickwork etc.Even the shop fronts & interiors are quite hovel like.Yet we managed with what we had & tried to make the best of it, until now anyway. As a community we are enthusiastic about the potential of Brentford but as the concrete increases so will the rents, rates and water run off.It has been demonstrated that even after a heavy 10 minute rain fall floods pose a serious hazards to health as shown every year for quite along time now.The last few years have been disastrous for the biodiversity of the thames including humans. Various agencies have produced reports clearly stating the problems with horrible bacteria present in the river water,do we really want it in our water supply.?no way jose.We are getting to grips with many of the problems, replacing watermains, green energy, solar wind power, may even get new tidal turbines and a 10 mile thames barrier.2008 could be a good year even if it is the year of the Rat,and i dont even want to talk about mosquitoes.
