How much will it eventually cost?

The new Olympic stadium,that is.£496m is the estimate now for what is,by the accounts that I have read,a relatively unimpressive structure.We all know that no project like this ever comes in on budget.I reckon £670m at least.

Dave,I was not making any party political point,as indicated by the lack of referrence to any political party in the original post.Not sure visitors will be that impressed with dirty streets,traffic jams,high prices,unpredictable weather,no police on the streets at night,and poor service at most places.Makes you proud,doesn't it?

If it was not done under a Labour Goverment and was done uder a tory one I should imagine to see a number of people here saying what a wonderfull thing the games are...Personally I hope we can show the world what wonderfull city we live in and have pride in holding such an event as this.

And now Glasgow have been awarded the Commonwealth Games, no doubt we'll end up paying for that too.

No, got to break the 1000m barrier surely? That only means coming in at just over 200% of the budget. What's unlikely about that?
