Brentford High Street development - Ballymore presents proposal

KeithAndrew will confirm, but it appears that this may not happen until January. Whilst the delay is regrettable, we will be better served by seeing proposals that have been fully worked through.Stay posted to the High St website for the latest information.RegardsMatt

Thanks a bunch Duncan! Don't give them such ideas!I prefer floating on the river - though I can't see that even that would be much fun in the Wood Wharf environment.Unfortunately, Ballymore are partnered with BW, there as here, and you'll remember what BW wanted for Commerce Road.I surely hope that past tense is justified - the Appeal decision is expected anytime soon (before the end of this month) and I'm trying not to think of a wrong one.

Thanks Nigel. The final vision document has some excellent information and looks very professional. I can't see the developers accommodating all of that, but they have something to chew on.I see what you mean about Balymore's Wood Wharf towers in the sky: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23421502-details/New+city+of+towers+in+Docks/article.doI remember an image of a scene in Werner Herzog's film, 'Aguirre: The Wrath of God', where there is a galleon in a tree, maybe Ballymore could put the boats on top of the skyscrapers!

Duncan, the initial expectation was as you quoted, but this may be subject to revision. Ballymore would rather present an outline to the High Street Steering Group before 'going public', and are further uncertain whether they'll be in a position to do that this year. So watch this space, Andrew will keep us updated as things become certain.Meanwhile, Friday's Evening Standard has an illustrated article on Ballymore's Wood Wharf scheme that could be of interest to you, in terms of getting an idea of their typical scale and style.Hopefully, their plans for Brentford will be of a different character!
