Syon Park's Enchanted Woodland

Tonight was the official opening of Syon Park’s ‘Enchanted Woodland’. Gilly & I were there courtesy of Janet MacNamara, and after a slow start, it was a great experience to do the walk.Nigel Havers was to open the proceedings, but obviously couldn’t make it, so we had the far more satisfactory delight of watching Cinderella do the honours –With apologies in advance for the limitations of my little ‘credit card’ camera, here’s a selection from the walk around the remnant of the southern branch of the old River Brent -

Perhaps it’s only fair to show the flyer that was handed out at the opening, to give everyone the chance of seeing Cinderella for themselves –I also omitted to mention (eat your hearts out), that we were all given packets of ‘Cinderella’ pumpkin seeds to mark the occasion. Just maybe they’ll be on offer for those attending the panto.

Nigel, wonderful photos. I love the name 'Enchanted Woodland'.  Children would love to walk through it. Very colourful too. Thank you for sharing the photos. Now what's the hot gossip over who was going to sit next to Cinderella?  Do tell!!

Thanks for the write up and piccies Nigel...one of your princess would be most welcome too!I see that the Lion Gate on London Road has a pink floodlight as in previous years..so my offering is a 12 month old picture!

Nigel, those lights give a superb effect, and Mercury looks good in the fountain. I will be going along.Did you then go off to the ball with Cinderella or was it with one of the sisters?
