Has Cllr Davis quit the tories!!!

Is it a sinking ship!!!! reports from 2 differant sources at the civic are saying she has quit is it true...or will we have to wait till thursday when the papers are out.

I well remember listening to him when he was out on the hustings, and although I was quite young at the time, he made a great and lasting impression on me that lasts to this day. Sadly I am at a loss to understand what "New Labour" stands for these days, perhaps "how far can we get our noses into the trough, and sod the rest?" I haven't forgot the caring Mr Alistair Darling either, who raised the pension by 75p, what an insult! Does anyone have the comparison as to how much MP's salaries have grown over the years, compared to pensioners.

If you have taken this as a vote of confidence in yourself then good luck with it.I do however concede that the good folks on the W4 forum do for the greater part tend to prefer your style of debate to my own, and I am happy to leave it to you henceforth to impart your knowledge and wisdom to them when they want to know what is going on at LBH.  I am sure the accurate, temperate and impartial manner in which you share your factual knowledge will prove to be a great service to them.

They will stand again - they are on too much of a good thing, and the local party is still unquestioning in its support.  There is still a lot of value to be squeezed from the sheep our Ann has here, before she goes to Wales and buys some more.The ICG is filled to the rafters with residents who used to work or vote for these people.  To be honest they tend to make the best recruits - the zeal of the convert can be quite breathtaking.I'm quite looking forward to the general election.  Watching the (self-proclaimed) mighty fall is becoming an familiar and enjoyable habit around these parts.

JimThere is no greater sin that one can commit than to fail to recognise the inherent superiority of The Great Ones.  They have ways and means which you and I can only wonder about - a special handshake, a wink and a nod - that kind of thing.At the end of the selection process comes the emergence of the candidate, the person judged to be the most suitable respresentative of the organisation, be it Ann K££n, David Hughes or whomsoever.  This is the person for whom we must vote, or else there is hell to pay.It is not for lesser beings such as yourself to be questioning the workings of the Organisation whose purpose it is to rule over us, benevolently but firmly should any unruly resident-types develop any strange ideas about wanting to run their own affairs.I have learned my lesson on W4 trying to use logical arguments to try to overcome this banality and paucity of thought.  All hail The Machine, I say - New Labour's apparent decline is but a temporary blip and Vanessa will get her knighthood yet.

Could I tell you, young lady, that I was working for the Brentford and Chiswick Labour Party  before you were even BORN!I had journalistic relationships with Ray Padley, (Labour Party and Research Officer for the Transport and General Workers Union) in the 1960's before he became Hounslow mayor for starters.I was a researcher and journalist  specialising in Labour Party industrial relations matters. Same Chiswick School as Alf King,  etc etc. My father worked with the Hooper family activists in Chiswick in 40's 50's and 60's. Thankfully I converted Dad by the 1970's and that was easy..in view of what was going on all around.I must have read some 500 Labour Party outpourings  in the past 4 years..many of those written by Mr Alan Sherrins, the B&C Labour Party Campaign boss, and of course have met a flurry of local LP activists.Regularly studying labour party correspondence in the local press, on Mrs Keens website, and having examined the state of the Party's headquarters in Chiswick....your claim that I know nothing about the local Labour party is piffle.I like the quip about "acting my age rather than my shoe size" thjough    Well, I do metric over here..so that takes me back to my 44th year (1984) when I was a firm supporter of the Conservatives. Your old pals like Jack Jones and Scargill and the print Union bosses were traitors and should have been given the Lord Lovat treatment! I've quizzed some of Labour Party candidates in the Isleworth area..and frankly they hadn't a clue.Have you seen the crap text contained in the Riverside ward letters being circulated in Chiswick? I speak with knowledge in that case. The contents of the letter seems a joke!There again,I'm not suppose to know anything! Are the outpourings of the Labour Party's ex Councillor Dave Hughes indicative of the style of the B&C Labour Group.  Only Ruth,perhaps, makes sense to me! I'll calm down and get the horlicks. I enjoyed the exchange though!

You may not like what David says but he is just as entitled as anyone else to voice an opinion, and I am sure he needs no-one to encourage him or give him permission, as it is he is not a member of the Brentford & Isleworth Labour Party anyway.

JimAs soon as I read the "Willy Wagger" posting on CW4 I thought I recognised ex-Cllr Hughes' style. If it really wasn't him then someone has got him off to a "T". PS he seems to object to his name being mis-spelt, even though he cannot be bothered to get Cllr.Davies' name right. PPS Don't they have a Forum in Bedfont for him to play on, instead of occasionally running riot at this end of the borough ? After all it was the long-suffering voters of Bedfont he used to represent on behalf of the Hounslow Labour Party.

Willy Wagger (ex Cllr Hughes) was yesterday claiming she "ad bin throne out of torrys" on the Chiswick Forum which is interesting and I wonder if he wwould like to expand on this as its news to me?

JimI'm totally conscious of the view that I and maybe others are giving David undeserved airspace by engaging him in constant debate over here.I do this quite deliberately because David is clearly an authorised spokesperson for his party, and the fact that his (and therefore the New Labour Party's) frequent allegations can seldom if ever be substantiated reveal the modus operandi of the organisation for what it is.Long may he continue.

Phil,I don't think it was David Hughes who posted that "breaking news" item on CW4 Forum at about 2.30pm.The person who did was foolish enough to post under the name WILLY WAGGER (sic) and so, following my e-mail to the CW4 Editor at 2.40pm, the short thread was quickly erased. The Editor acknowledged my note.Had the poster used a proper name..the thread would have survived and the news would have taken hold very quickly..and thus David would have found out earlier than he did via his Civic Centre contact.  Not till I referred him to the Civic Centre website was he fully aware of the sad news.My view is give him the benefit of the doubt on this one..but I am perturbed that he is managing to engage so long with top Councillors on this Forum.  I would suggest that the Chairman of the local Labour Party is giving him every encouragement!

DavidA post appeared on the ChiswickW4.com site under the name "Willy Waggler", which was to all intents and purposes identical to the one which you have made here.Yur recent posts have referred excessively to the alleged cult of "willy waving".Well now, ordinarily I would be prepared to give you the benefit of the very considerable doubt.However, the deletion of the Chiswick post and the emergence on this forum of an almost identical post suggests to me that, once again, you are not being completely truthful.How much longer are you going to keep up this pretence?

Have re-written the last part it looked fine the first 2 reading's but soon realised the mistakes when I double checked the content. dyslexia is a real pain......So anyway what do you know about it.....will a new indie group be formed will she demand her own party office, will we be able to place bets on what she party she will join, can anyone remember who she is!!! what's the gossip
