BEWARE - BOBs operating in Somerfield Car Park

A neighbour of ours, who is 88 & partially sighted, was mugged in Somerfield car park on Saturday by 2 boys on bikes wearing hoodies.  They knocked her to the ground & stole her handbag containing money, bus pass & keys.I am absolutely disgusted anyway, but how brazen to operate right by the police station!  It shows these low life, who are cowards attacking defenceless old ladies, do not have any fear of the police.Please be on your guard & if you witness anything report it.

Sorry to read that these sorts of crimes are still occuring..how sad.  What can we do to improve matters?If these people are ever caught, the prisons are full and goodie goodie start releasing the crims early!We obviously need to be on our guard all the times,but what can one do if one gets challenged or attacked. Just habd over?  It's seems just like highwaymen on Hounslow Heath in the old days.Thanks for the report Lynn.  Sad also that something similar happened near Osterley Station recently.  Does anyone keep a list of these happenings for public viewing?Thanks to Sgt Peter Murphy for the update.

Thank you Sgt. Murphy.  Yes, I know she got her ripped handbag back & her keys.I just hope a witness comes forward for this incident or that everyone is now vigilant so the cowards get caught next time.

Lynne, the Syon SNT are aware of this incident. I was as disgusted about this, as you are. My officers have attended Somerfield and visited the lady. I won't go into too much detail on this forum, but so you are aware, her purse was found in Brentford High Street & handed into the Post Office (minus the cash).So far we have had no witnesses come forward regarding this incident.

Yes, the police are involved (but I don't hold out much hope).She's always on the go, even getting shopping for other elderly neighbours, but now she's scared to answer the door & won't go out.  It's a terrible shock & I can understand why she feels this way (or why anyone would for that matter), but I hope it's only temporary.The poor old dear didn't want to make a fuss & WALKED all the way back to Isleworth as she didn't have any money or her bus pass!!! & because of her sight she was scared crossing the roads.I was disgusted with Somerfield when I heard this, but actually I'm not sure what she said to them or how much they knew...I would ahve thought they would have called a relative or put her in a cab home.They have security guards in store, perhaps they should put one in the car park too.

That is despicable. I do hope the police are aware of it. The old lady must be feeling very hurt by this, I hope she recovers well and I hope it hasn't destroyed her faith in our society.
