Completely frames the corner, Jim - and just look at those chimney pots!  Can't be many chimney pots left which can be seen from the street like this.

Look at the care and attention to detail in the design of this building.  It must have been newly painted because today it seems so attractive.  By contrast the adjoining Council Flats look just out of place.

Surprised to hear this morning that a picture of mine on this Forum (or on flickr) has been chosen for shortlisting for a London Travel Guide! All I did was press the button!Well done Canon Ixus 500, Osterley Park farmer, the metal railings man and Nature!

That's helpful to know Michael. Getting out and about is a struggle when there is a keyboard,screen and mouse in the house..and one can browse to places all over the world..in 3D too sometimes!

Just to correct the £2-50 return to Box Hill.  It's only £2-50 if one has a Senior Railcard (£20/year) as well as a freedom pass.

Thanks for the picture Jim.  Winter has its advantages in revealing hidden buildings.  This is one of best views of palace more prized for its unexpectedness.  Let's keep this view for the Brentford people and not have it blocked off by developers.By the way did you know that for approximately £2-50 return with a freedom pass one can travel to the Surrey Hills - Box Hill or Horsley etc.

Edward, you will really enjoy the bus and train Pass ..it really does give one a Freedom when going out for the day. I regret not using mine more.When I do sometimes for a day out,I enjoy starting off at Twickenham Station..where one can park  for a few coppers..and then take the fast train to Waterloo..and see the majestic skyline of the South Bank and Westminster ..not forgetting MI5 and MI6 of course!!Then it's a case of where now..as you walk along the platform watching the world....a wonderful experience when you're not in a hurry to attend a function or an appointment.**JL's camera must be pretty superior to mine.. his pictures have real clarity and quality. Look at those highland cattle. ** Why are some pubs called the Dukes Head?  ** Here's a recent picture from the forecourt at the Watermans..across the River Thames to Kew Palace.  You will recall that HM The Queen and her family celebrated her 80th birthday there.

Yes, I use the Flickr function to cut and paste the image onto the forum. I choose the medium size (500x372 pixels) and here's one of the Duke's herd:

No Jim I don't get my bus pass till this May, then my friend in the photo and I will go on an adventure via London Transport and see how many pubs we can visit across the city in one day!

Hi Jim  I got the Virtual Earth view on screen,then used a screen grabber (MWsnap3 free off the www.),put the result into Photoshop and enhanced it a bit (sharpened,contrast etc.)then uploaded to Flickr. Then Duncan came to the rescue with the upload! :0) As an aside,and because I worry about copyrights, I asked Microsoft about uploading V.E. images to a Forum,expaining that I wasn't making a profit out of it. I got a very vague reply,and a promise to come back in the New Year,so in the mean time I'll just upload to Flickr,making sure to leave the M.S.logo in situ. I really liked your Gillettes picture...excellent!Thanks Tony

Tony,Glad that you have sorted the codes for posting pictures.Your picture of Boston Manor Park and the grass markings, via Virtual Earth and using the Bird's Eye View,and upload on Flickr was a masterly piece of Picture Posting..if you don't mind my saying so. Did you, for starters, e-mail the angled Virtual World view of BMP to your e-mail address?

Great picture Jim (another JL!)... and glad to see Flickr being used. Do you use tags?Flickr is a great website..but when posting pictures onto the Forums I find that sizes can be a bit wayward.  Anything x 447 fits perfectly usually.

TonyTry using http://www.freeimghosting.com/join.phpWatch out with "picture size" problems.  Height at 447 is what I aim for.Practice Area is best on the semi redundant Wandsworth Forum.

Just load your photos to a photo host (but you must register with the host before) on the web with an URL for the photo( don't think Yahoo's facility is suitable though).Then put some standard html script in yout brentfordtw8 message.  The minimum is .Jim and Nigel are the experts.
