Outdoor Christmas decorations:  Convent Way etc

Hasn't the year flown!Twelve months ago..and years before... we were entertaining ourselves on the Forum with news and pictures about local outdoor Christmas decorations..especially those which were worth a drive or long walk to see! And we posted other Christmasy things too.With sub-zero temperatures..and the possibility of snow..this year might be more atmospheric than usual!It was snowing in London on Saturday would you believe! Yes, just as I was driving out of town and passing Harrods a delicate flurry of snow took me by surprise ..especially as my car's thermometer read just 42F!  Harrods were cheekily spraying artificial snow from their rooftop onto the pavement shoppers below!The lights are already on in Convent Way, Heston..but only one house this year.  Have you other streets to recommend?

I'm sorry I haven't been able to get along to Convent Way a second time this year to make a donation to the chosen charity..but I will.Also, I was not able to knuckle down to organise getting the Mayor of Hounslow, Andrew Morgan-Watts to attend this year..as happened last year with Mayor Felicity Barwood.  My apologies. I became side-tracked to help at the "Pensioners Alone on Christmas Day" event in Chiswick.There didn't seen to be so many lights on in house windows this year. Agreed?  The Golden Mile on the Great West Road was a flop lights- wise.  And those blue lights some people have just seem the wrong colour!

hi jim long time happy christmas there is a rememberance tree at west mid hosp unfortunalty been there for 2 weeks with tyzja again she has got pnemonia again all the best debbie x

Isn't there a Christmas tree locally that one can attach the names of deceased loved ones? Is there on at West Mid or at Ealing Hospital?

Convent Way, Heston is well worth a trip again this year..even  though one of the houses has had to miss this year because of ill health.We send our best wishes to them.  Turning a bend in Convent Way, one cannot fail to be impressed with the decorative scene. You can wander around the garden, admire the displays from short range..and perhaps make a donation to the Charity involved.So, ease round the bend and....
