Historic Brentford relics

New discovery for me, an extra snippet of historical info for those interested.You'll remember the etching/painting of the Market Square building -Well I've discovered (accidentally as usual), that a bit of this market house survives, the weathervane having been rescued and recycled for the little 12th Century church of St Mary's in Perivale -

We're neither of us old relics Jim!Will have to try getting my own photo of the fountain. Received an email this morning wherein Janet has discovered sections of the first James Clitheroe memorial - part in a wall in Highgate, part in Australia! Will have to get more info from her. So it wasn't just the Trimmers who emigrated.Of course Clitheroe and Joseph Banks were friends, with a mutual interest in New South Wales and its colonisation.

I thought the topic was going to be about us Nigel!!  But I told you I live in Isleworth.. much less posh.But that was a good find though.. Brentford's weather vane in Perivale.. when will we get it back?What about Brentford's (Kew Bridge) Fountain now plonked on a kerb in Heston with an Uxbridge Post Code!
