After all the festive T.V. dross welcome back CSI Crime Investigation, both Las Vegas and N.Y. and best of all E.R. Will Sara Sidle still be alive when Grissom finally gets to her? 6 months injured under a truck in the desert is one hell of a long time. Will Neela survive in the E.R.? Where's luscious Luka?.................

Start date for season 4 of Boston Legal 10.00.p.m. this Thursday 31 January - a clash with E.R. on More 4, thank-heaven for Virgin+ or watch again on Ch. 4 Saturdays.

Think we might be O.K. with Boston Legal as season 4 started showing over in the States last September so may have escaped the strike, weren't they near settling this last week? Get Alan Shore on the case!

Grissom will not falter. Sara was supposed to die at the end of the last season but clever actress failed to turn up for filming (extension of contract negotiations). She has subsequently decided to have children, with whom nobody knows but she's leaving. I suspect that Gill will have a bit more fun with Lady Heather in her absence. Hopefully. As for B.L. Can't wait but the US writers strike is seriously delaying our entertainment. How rude!

She survived, but not for long !!"Fans of CSI have started a grassroots online campaign to persuade departing cast member Jorja Fox to stay. Fox announced she was leaving the show in an interview with TV Guide magazine last month, sending shockwaves through the program's avid global fan base. Her character, Sara Sidle, is a fan favorite and website DollarsForSense.com has been asking fans to send in letters voicing disapproval over Fox's departure. The unnamed fan behind the site then promised to forward on the letters to producers. He has already live up to his word - producers claim they've received over 3,000 unhappy letters from Sidle fans. Fox has been a regular on the show since 2000. She is quitting in November after failing to agree terms on a new deal."

We have been without T.V. since the summer, (still pay licence tho') you can catch up with many  U.S. (and U.K) programmes online through sites  such as Joox.net. these programmes are streamed to your pc not downloaded. quality not great always and buffering may take time, but better than nothing!

She wandered in the desert but left little stacks of rocks every so often, she also took with her the driving mirror from the car that she'd used to free her arm by digging under the rock that had trapped it. Grissom and Catherine were following but ran out of rock piles. She eventually collapsed from dehydration etc. and the mirror fell out of her back pocket, however Sophia (the cop) and Nick (CSI) who were driving along the highway saw something glistening in the sun (mirror) and pulled off, and there was Sara. Enter, helicopted medics. and Catherine and Grissom, Griss went with her in the chopper and when she came round the first thing she saw was his name on his tabard and then him- aaah!

Well we now know about Sara. As these programmes are shown quite a time before in the U.S.(certainly the new series of E.R. was showing in November when I was over there) I doubt we will yet feel the effects of the Screen Writers strike, but good for all the S.A.G. members especially gorgeous George for refusing to cross the picket lines.

Thankyou for posting that Hugh!  That took me back a bit (1956 to be precise), my eldest brother had just bought an "electric" record player and just the one record..Bad Penny Blues,so I got to know it quite intimately! I got my own back,I got Buddy Hollys'  "Oh Boy",which I played endlessly.  My reference to Humpf on this thread was really the program I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue,I think one of the funniest progams on radio or TV,and quite harmless too,always a bonus.  I met Humpf a few years back (through work) and have to say he really is one of the nicest blokes you could meet...blimmin tall too!(and 86 years old to boot...the swine!)  As you like traditional jazz I wonder if you used to frequent the Bricklayers Arms in the '70s,I think the resident band were Keith Smiths Climax Jazz Band on a wednesday night...'twas jolly good!Thanks Again    Tony

Give Radio a chance...Radio 4(for allsorts,Humphrey Littleton in particular) ,Radio 7(for nostalgia freeks) and One Word (for classic book readings),perfick for doing the ironing (so I'm told).  As the little girl said when asked why she preferred radio to TV " The pictures are better on radio"

I wouldn't class Strictly or Dancing on Ice as 'reality' and have to confess I love ice dancing, but the rest - the B.B. and all that crap I cannot bear, and in fact have never watched them. Reading about these morons in the papers is enough to put anyone off.

Funny you say that, Vanessa, but I was thinking exactly the opposite! After a few weeks' break from relentless "Reality" TV drivel (e.g. X Factor, I'm a Celebrity..., Strictly Come Dancing etc...) we are now back on the treadmill with Big Brother Celebrity Hijack, Dancing on Ice and The One and Only.

The best piece of tech equipment we have purchased recently has been our hard drive recorder - so I have managed to record most of the back CSI's which I missed :-) via Channel 5 and 5 US - great stuff!  Looking forward to seeing Sarah, Sidle out from under that car.
