Shreddies' shortage

My 18year old son will only eat Shreddies for breakfast but I haven't been able to find a 750g (better value)packet since before Christmas despite trying several different supermarkets. Some don't even have the 500g size but seem to have every other cereal under the sun on their shelves. Is there a nationwide Shreddies shortage? Has there been a fire at the factory? Has anyone seen any or will I have to wean my son onto Grape Nuts?

Good news - Asda has also been running the two 500g packs for £2.00 promotion so 18year old son now has about 3 months' supplies, but still no sign of the larger packets. Annoying because if I remember my schoolgirl maths right, there's more waste packaging per Shreddie in a 500g packet than in a 750g packet - is this right?

I saw them in Tescos Twickenham (Mogden Lane) today. 500g packs at  2 for £2 (instead of £1.73 per pack

Thank you Steve for the tip and Jim, as ever, for the photos. I thought Vanessa might be right about the Grannies being on strike, but I've 'googled' this without success so I think they must have been having Christmas with their families.

In the middle of last night (4am)... I made a journey to...located in the middle of Hounslow.------------------------------------------------------The giant underground car park was total empty except for 2 saloons...it was a treat.------------------------------------------------------I had the Superstore to myself!!  ..an odd feeling...------------------------------------------------------I buy food from Waitrose,West Ealing normally------------------------------------------------------but at Asda last night...not a packet of..------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------....in sight...suggesting that there is indeed a shortage. This low sugar cereal is excellent for diabetics, as is Weetabix and porridge (rolled oats / Taste the difference brand from Sainsbury's recommended).Sounds like your children are sensible.. not seeking the more sugery alternatives...which are a treat..but perhaps not good for you.

But seriously......  I just had a look on Tesco's OnLine and whilst they haven't got 750g boxes - they are doing the 500g packs  at  2 for £2 until 5 Feb (instead of £1.73 per pack)
