The new yellow line painted up to the corner is redundant. Parking on the corner is already prohibited - and it doesn't deter a lot of people anyway! Either the car park is filling up or the workmen want to avoid paying for parking, but either way it is resulting in large numbers of additional vehicles parking on the street.I think this end of Layton Road needs to have parking on the north side of the street only, and in the bays. Emergency vehicles, rubbish/recycling collection vehicles and residents' cars are finding it difficult to navigate the parking congestion. What irks me particularly is that we had just achieved some level of normality with the recycling, which involved the smaller van coming a day late but at least managing to get through. This is a huge improvement on the shambles of the last six months or so, when I was told each and every time I rang up that the larger vehicles are unable to navigate the narrow entrance to Layton Road. Also, repairs to some broken guttering on our building were substantially delayed because the scaffolding lorry was unable to get through. I don't mind the occasional parking chaos that takes place when there's a match on (though the chap who parked in my neighbour's garden was going a bit far), but this day-to-day congestion is irritating and potentially dangerous. Matt, is there anything that local residents can do to get this parking issue sorted out, either through Barratt's or LB Hounslow?
