Brentford Gallery

Just had  preview of the new art gallery of James Thomas opening on Johnsons Island.  He's planning public showings 3 months a year with then showings of different artists.  The paintings by Barry Jones exhibited in the gallery are in my view excellent depicting various scenes around THames Lock (next to Brentford Dock).  When open the gallery is well worth a visit.Much more detail can be found on http://www.brentfordgallery.co.uk

I thought Johnsons Island and MSO Boatyards and weir were 'protected' by the Hounslow Cuncil.  Perhaps Geronimo wish to override that protection.I remember at the Business/Enterprise sub-group meeting of the Brentford igh Street organisation where ideas were being collected for the final BHS document that a representative of Geronimo's PR agency said to our group that a ceramics workshop/studio was moving to SoBHS.  I presumed he said this to show how Ballymore was positively inclined to art/craft studios.  But although I'm very confident in my recollection nobody else from the BHS group seems to have heard him.

Superb location for an artist and it gives the island a great feel. The Brewery Tap pub is handy for visitors to the gallery when it opens.And what an intriguing place to hire for £19 per 3 hour slot. It would a good place to have a creative session.I suppose this is earmarked as a Tesco's store by the South of High Street developers!
