Not an answer - but possibly it might shed light on the discussion. Is the provision of "community funding" for secondary schools linked to whether they have "accommodation rented by Adult and CommunityEducation for courses, i.e. open for other lettings on some evenings/weekendsessions " ?Extracts from Hounslow document on "The Community Use of Schools (July 2007)" :Schools are funded for providing education to their pupils during the schoolteaching day through their delegated budget that covers the related openingcosts. The Local Authority then subsidises a number of schools to open atcertain other times for use by community groups. The list of these schools isavailable as Appendix 3 and updated annually in the summer term. Thesubsidy given by the Local Authority to some schools for evening andweekend opening does not, however, cover the full costs of the ‘core services’provided by the school: energy costs (heating, lighting), utilities, caretakingand cleaning. As a result a service charge is made to hirers.List of Schools receiving LA subsidy for evening/weekend opening:Beavers CommunityCrane Park PrimaryCranford Infant and NurseryWilliam Hogarth PrimaryHounslow Heath Infant and NurseryHounslow Town PrimaryIvybridge PrimaryMarjory KinnonSparrow Farm InfantSparrow Farm JuniorSpringwell JuniorSecondary Schools where accommodation is rented by Adult and CommunityEducation for courses, i.e. open for other lettings on some evenings/weekendsessions:Brentford School for GirlsChiswick CommunityCranford CommunityFeltham CommunityThe Green SchoolHeston CommunityHounslow Manor
