Thank Neil. I actually saw this thread, save for the last couple of posts. The difficulty I had on that forum when trying to introduce myself as the dedicated Lead Member is that two of the regular posters, including the moderator, are members or at least very vociferous supporters of the New Labour Party. Nothing wrong with that, it's a free country, but their view of the administration in Hounslow was clearly driven by their political convictions and their reluctance to accept the fact that the Lionel Road project was being supported became almost wishful thinking.Yes, Councillor Adrian Lee did make those comments but they need to be taken in context. Adrian would not claim to be an expert on footballing matters, and the scenario he painted on that one occasion was rather fanciful to say the least. However that notwithstanding it is not unreasonable that as the elected ward member for a closely neighbouring ward he should have concerns for the well-being of his constituents, albeit in this instance concerns which are in my view pretty much unfounded. The important thing to note is that Councillor Lee regards these as concerns to be addressed and overcome rather than an insurmountable obstacle to the success of the project. The new administration has been entirely supportive of the proposed move to Lionel Road, as I hope the management at Brentford Football Club will testify. So then the choice is between a Mayor of London who will back the plans and one who will leave the decision to a local authority which will back the plans. In other words where Lionel Road is concerned, the choice between Ken and Boris is pretty much a neutral one.A good predicament for Brentford fans to be in, I'd have thought?
