At risk of upsetting my unionist friends, to me all logic is pointing in the direction of an English Parliament to replace the UK one, possibly with some kind of small, united assembly of representatives to co-ordinate a common policy on such issues as Defence - if that was what the constituent nations required. The only other logical step, which I imagine the unionists would find more attractive, would be to abolish the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly and return to the old set-up. I suspect this would go down like a mouldy haggis in those lands which have had some power devolved to them. What certainly doesn't make any sense is the current, typically English fudge.
