Try and avoid the Whitton Dene area if possible

I have just had an e-mail which may be helpful to someDear Cllrs. You are possibly aware that Whitton Dene is currently closed due to a burst water main. At the time of the burst it was expected that the main would be repaired within a week to 10-days, but this has not happened and I have today been provided with the following update. The water main which burst in Whitton Dene also serves West Middlesex Hospital and therefore Thames Water have been unable to shut it down to undertake the repair. Thames Water have now arranged with West Middlesex Hospital for a fleet of water tankers to service the hospital on Saturday 24 May allowing them to shut the main down on that day and carry out the repair. I have been advised that the reason for the delay is down to the logistics of organising so many water tankers to service such a large and sensitive establishment. If the repair is successful on the 24 May then the reinstatement of the road will begin on the 25 May. Due to the amount of damage the water has caused and the make-up of the road it will take a further 7-10 days to complete the reinstatement. We anticipate that the road will be reopened during week commencing 2 June.Traffic continues to be diverted as follows: traffic within LB Hounslow - Eastbound via Whitton Dene, Rugby Road, Whitton Road and Kneller Road; Westbound via Whitton Dene, Hounslow Road and Kneller Road.traffic within LB Richmond upon Thames - Eastbound via Kneller Road, Whitton Dene and Rugby Road to Whitton Dene; westbound traffic via Kneller Road, Hounslow Road to Whitton Dene. For information Thames Water's customer support number is 0845 9 200 800.
