Crozier and Leighton a disastrous double act

Just to cheer us all up this Bank Holiday weekend Royal Mail have revealed that Chief Executive Adam Crozier pocketed more that £3 million last year. This after a year which has seen the worst strike for decades and a huge slump in profits and the proposed closure of 2,500 Post Offices.  To add insult to injury, if you can bear it, the other numpty Alan Leighton so-called Chairman of Royal Mail was paid £200.000 and had the gall to defend Crozier who by the way gets £45.000 as a part-time director of Debenhams! On top of that the quaintly called managing director of letters left with a pay-off of £500.000. No wonder they want to shut Post Offices and cut mail deliveries, someone has to pay for these morons to stay and bugger things up a bit more. Don't even get me started on the M.P's exes published today! These people are all taking the p*** big time, and the rest of us are expected to settle for pathetic pay rises because they add to inflation if we don't! God give me strength.

Vanessa I think that's a case of the exception proving the rule.  I don't think the CBI (or the Institute of Directors) would be good examples.  If those bastions of capitalism crumble then we'd be in an almost totalitarian society with New Labour infiltrating everything.

I don't think so - what about Digby Jones of the CBI? Hardly a labour party member but wasn't he one of Gordon's little helpers? What I think is Colin is right - because what we have is an ever increasing breed of 'professional politicians' who have never had a real job in the real world, and do lack common sense, which is what makes them so isolated from the lives the rest of us live.

Another vital requirement for such a position in such organisations is to be a card-carrying member of the party in power (ie government).

Perhaps he ticked all the right boxes Vanessa. As far as I am aware, he had no Football background, anymore than Postal. Years ago an essential qualification was that you had some grounding in the organisation that you were supposed to oversee. No doubt he has a First Class Degree, which seems to be the only requirement of our Political Masters, dazzled by such things.All this very often shows that the person concerned has plenty of brains, but lacks the commonsense to operate in the real World.

How can someone cock-up so spectacularly and then be offered mega bucks to go somewhere else and do it all over again? You could probably go up to any bus queue and find several people who'd do the job better, it's a scandal that these same names just go on and on moving from one job to another, with ever increasing pay days. How can they also be deemed to be capable of doing two jobs when clearly one is one too much for their limited brain power, amazing.

Just for a moment Vanessa, I thought you were refering to Joe(Crozier) of Brentford FC fame many years ago. However there is a Football link with Adam (Crozier), he presided over the New Wembley fiasco detemined that it would succeed so that he could rub shoulders with the Great and the Good on Cup Final day, but then no doubt he got a better offer.
